Happy October folks! Got back from Gonerfest earlier this week, and what an amazing four days it was! Smirk, Sweeping Promises, and Spread Joy all played great sets (really though, every band on the bill ruled), the weather was incredible, and it was great to meet/see quite a few of y'all for the first time in ages. Hey folks, quick update: the second pressing of the self titled Spread Joy LP is available now on white vinyl! I am getting ready to load up my Prius and hit the road with records for Sweeping Promises, Spread Joy, and Smirk - all of whom are playing Gonerfest 18. Folks, today I've got the pleasure of bringing you a very special reissue. The Soul Patrol, hailing from small town Many, Louisiana, issued a painfully rare (50 pressed!) 7" single in late 1979 on their own STUD Records imprint. Most copies were given away to friends, essentially vanishing into obscurity for 40+ years - even escaping the various compilers of Killed By Death, Bloodstains Across..., Bonehead Crunchers, and the like - though The Soul Patrol would have stood out on any of those wonderful comps.
