The new DAS album ABSTRACT REALITY features Matthew Smith playing trumpet on a couple tracks. Don Schwenk (aka DAS) and Matthew were both interviewed in the film "A Band Called DEATH", since it was a conversation between the two of them that ultimately led to the rediscovery of that legendary Detroit band. ABSTRACT REALITY, featuring Don on guitar, piano, and vocals and Tyler Hicks on bass, is the 8th in a series of albums that began with the private pressing NON-CHALANT back in 1985, which sounded kind of like a weird mix of Beefheart, Ubu, and Exile-era Stones.
