Drummers Jimmy Cobb and Elvin Jones and bassist Paul Chambers reconfigured their approaches to blend with the orchestra under Evans' command and Davis uses a muted flugelhorn for the epic opener; his solo on "Saeta" is blinding and the adapted Andalusian folk song "Solea" draws on flamenco.
