Friends, another crazy week has flown by! Been on the road with Sweeping Promises. They're in Brooklyn tonight and even got a nice writeup in The New Yorker - whoa! Alien Nosejob LPs are pressed but still need to be assembled at the plant - might be able to get them out before I'm on the road for another week, but if not, preorders won't ship until the week of Nov 15th. Getting records done on time is becoming harder by the day, it seems.
Anyhow, today we have a wonderful new announcement - the debut of Good Looking Son. A six song 12" EP from our old friend Keith Harman of The Cowboys! More on that below. Also just in, an exclusive new Aussie import - the debut Laughing Gear LP - industrio-minimalist synthpunk madness!
GOOD LOOKING SON - FANTASY WEEKEND 12" EP
Debut solo release from Keith Harman (The Cowboys) joined by a cast of Cincinnati players, including Jerri Queen from Vacation. 6 tracks that showcase Keith's '60s-influenced songwriting ability and vocal range, mixed with more of an upbeat powerpop sensibility, yet totally unique. Mastered by Caufield Schnug (Sweeping Promises) and cut loud on a 45rpm 12".
A new Australian record we are excited to be exclusively distributing in North America is the debut LP from Melbourne's Laughing Gear. Insane minimalist synthpunk vibes with heavy guitar - recalls some of the early industrial/synthpunk mashup on Subterranean Records ala Nervous Gender, Live at Target, etc. Features members of Chrome Dome, Brando’s Island, Romero and Eyesores. Great shit!
The Hunger for a Way Out tour wraps up over the course of the next week and change. Be on the lookout for a new Sweeping Promises track later in the month!
