As the nation strains under the yoke of the summer heat, as our communities are invaded by masked agents pursuing an agenda of repression, as the future grows more and more uncertain with each passing news cycle, a growl has been emanating from the Ohio River Valley. On August 8 that growl erupts into a roar as Cincy’s Primitive Impulse drop their full-length Piss It Away. 13 tacks that constitute an 18-minute middle finger to a corrupt system: no compromise, no mercy, no bullshit capital H Hardcore.
Looking for a bit of respite—get out of the heat and take a break from the contemporary hellscape? At the shop we have a 3 great shows coming up this month and a working air-conditioner! On the 17th Austin art punkers Guiding Light will be in town, backed by Cincy weirdo darlings Artificial Go and Hueston Woods. Then on the 19th Minneapolis’ The Slow Death are in town touring behind their new record No Light To See, backed by local romantics Louse, Etudes of Horror (members of The Drin & Sorry Eric), and MOP. Finally to close out the month on the 23rd we have Alvilda all the way from Paris bringing their brand of punk-tinged power pop to our little city by the Ohio River. Backed by NYC glam rockers Brower and Indy-Cincy super group Good Flying Birds, this one is going to be wild, man, wild. Hope to see y'all real soon!
