Why Bother new LP announced, Freak Genes LP out now, tours'n'more!

People! We've got the second LP from Why Bother? up for preorder today. This band is on another level. If you've been following the tapes and singles they've done this year, you'll know what's up...but wait 'til you hear Lacerated Nights. Freak Genes' latest album, Hologram, is out now and you can see them at Gonerfest and on a short run of Midwest dates in September. Leopardo will be coming over from Switzerland as well - tour dates announced! Release date: September 16. Preorders ship mid-late September. 500 white vinyl / 500 black vinyl Talk about a band...WHY BOTHER? are not only doing it themselves, but doing it for themselves. With zero interest in performing live or promoting their music online - the Mason City, Iowa four piece have been back in the basement writing and recording highly original punk music faster than it can be pressed to vinyl in this day and age. Their earliest material was collected on 'A Year of Mutations' and issued on LP by Feel It in 2021 - since then, the band has been building towards their first full length, and hot damn does it deliver! Speck's guitar sound is cut straight from the ultra-trebly Killed By Death sound as Terry's vocals and '73 Univox 100 synth cut over top of the wildly dexterous rhythm section of Pamela and Paul. It's a sound both classic and futuristic from a group of Midwest weirdos living outside the tech bubble, spinning their own web of sound straight from 8-track tape. So if you need a dose of true original punk rock in 2022 and beyond, WHY BOTHER? can give you that fix.

Feel It afterparty at Gonerfest 19!

Look forward to seeing/meeting some of y'all in Memphis next month. Heck of a lineup this year - honored to have Crime of Passing, Green/Blue, Freak Genes, and Leopardo all representing Feel It this year! We are throwing an afterparty on Friday Sept. 23 at Lamplighter Lounge. You will have time to see the Gonerfest main show at Railgarten and make it down to Lamplighter for music starting at midnight and going late! Who the hell are these bands? We've already hinted at which Feel It bands will be in town, so we'll leave the rest of the guessing work up to y'all. There's a very cool Memphis local on the bill as well!
